I heard it through the grapevine the other day that someone has been trying to beat some of the Guinness World Records I set last year. One of them definitely was broken (my bum skip record is in need of a redo since it has officially been defeated) and the other one is tentative. I decided to take the challenge head on and break the records again. Since I’m still in rehab for my arm, the bum skip record will have to wait as that particular motion is fairly painful at the moment. The football (soccer) juggling record on the other hand, that one IRead More →

This year is flying by isn’t it? I just finished an 8 week tour where I got to travel all around the country performing in lots of interesting places, including my final state, Maine! However, there has been a bit of a cloud that has been hanging over me since the middle of November and now that I’m getting an idea of what to do…I’m fighting back! So what’s the deal you ask? Where to begin… The specific cause of my injuries is quite elusive, so I won’t bother with that, but it’s probably all related to jump rope (go figure). Last year I startedRead More →

Guinness World Records featured my record for juggling a soccer ball while skipping in their monthly sports vlog. Also, they just approved my record for the most skips in 30 seconds on one foot so I now officially have 4 records!Read More →

After umpteen hours in 3 different flying cans, I finally arrived home and promptly went to sleep for 2 days. The last 3 weeks have been an incredible adventure, but I am glad to be sleeping in my own bed again. I have a hard time expressing how impressed I am by the improvement I’ve seen in the jumpers in the past 3 years. They seem to be the embodiment of the whole eat, sleep, jump idea. Needless to say, I was impressed with the jumpers. But even more so, I am blown away by the connection we’re able to make with these kids everyRead More →

While I was in Africa, I had a great opportunity to meet some new people. There was a whole group from Seattle (some of whom I have known for years, others were a bit on the younger side and I met them for the first time). Kaitlyn was our only skipper from Canada and we had one guy come in from Japan named Jun Haratake. Jun is in charge of the Fusion competitions in Japan and is very well known and respected in the Double Dutch Fusion world. I have to admit that since I have been performing for a living, I don’t do aRead More →

Today I finally defeated the hardest record I’ve been training for! I hopped a mile on one foot while jumping rope. If you’ve been following my training logs, you know how much I hate doing this, but I can safely say that it’s over now! It was 41 degrees out when I headed over to the University of Tulsa to try this one. I met up with 2 assistant track coaches and the athletic operations director. They were kind enough to brave the weather and be my timekeepers/judges. There job was to make sure I didn’t cheat. We also had the local newspaper and oneRead More →

Today I got an email from Guinness World Records stating that my record application for “Most Bum Skips in 30 Seconds” has been accepted and I now officially have that record as well! They even have my record up on their site (though I still wonder why my unicycle record hasn’t show up there yet….hmmmm). Click Here to check that out. I also finally made a mile on one foot during practice today in 20 minutes 16 seconds! I can’t even express how happy I am about that. I also was able to meet up with Chase Carver and get the photo done for myRead More →

I am heading to Africa again! I just booked my flight for December and will be helping out One World One Rope with the 4th annual East Africa Rope Skipping Tournament. I wasn’t able to make it last year, but look forward to spending 2 weeks teaching some awesome kids how to jump rope this year! Last time I was there my unicycle was a huge hit with the kids in Tanzania, but this time around I will be spending time in Nairobi, Kenya (I promise I won’t visit any malls, just in case). Being able to take my jump rope around the world hasRead More →

Last night I set my 4th Guinness World Record for the year. I met up with the Super Skippers at the Cary YMCA in North Carolina since they have a bunch of certified judges. Coach Gary has been a friend of mine for quite a few years and I always enjoy hanging out with such a great coach and team. The record I set was for the most skips in 30 seconds on one foot. Check out the video and I’ll give you some info after the break. If you’ve never tried jumping on one foot for 30 seconds, I would encourage you to giveRead More →

Saturday night I got to perform for an awesome group of people up in Kansas City, MO. And when I say awesome, I do mean awesome because I got to perform at the Kansas City Juggling Festival. Not only I, but there was also one of the best yo-yo guys (Eric Tran-ton), baton twirler, jugglers and a half-naked french guy (which will take a moment to explain). I showed up at the festival a bit early to teach a half hour jump rope workshop. As soon as I walked in the gym I knew this was going to be a fun day. There was jugglingRead More →
