7-Time World Champion & 11-Time Guinness World Records Holder
Cape Fear Academy
The past 2 weeks I've been performing in the Dallas, TX area and boy has it been fun. Most of the time when I do a program it's a full school assembly where the school has paid to bring me in. Dallas has been a bit different, I've been working with a fundraising agency that helps schools raise money. As a reward for selling a certain amount of products, the agency has brought me into a school to perform for students that reach a certain sales amount. I know it sounds a bit confusing, but basically what happens is this: if a student sells 12 items they get to go to the assembly. That wasn't so hard, was it? Anyway, due to the nature of how this works, some schools have only had 20 students at the assembly, while others have had 150. When you're used to doing a program for 600 students 50 kids in an auditorium seems rather small. It's actually been awesome! Very rarely does one get to do a program that seems so intimate as you're able to connect with the audience in a way that's impossible when there are 500+ people watching.
What is this Golden Ticket then? One school I went to gave each student a golden ticket that they had to use to watch the program. I thought it was a cool idea and was very representative of how things have been in Texas. I love seeing the creativity that some people can come up with.
